Room for the whole herd to roam, popcorn and rest — without cramming them into a hutch that's too small
A 6ft hutch is our most spacious size — comfortable room for a group of three or four piggies, built from thick, weather-treated timber with a deep, draught-free bedroom, so more space never means a colder home.
A full 6ft of space — proper room for three or four piggies
Single, double, 2-tier and 3-tier layouts to suit your group
Thick timber and a cosy bedroom keep the warmth in
A 6ft hutch is our most spacious size and comfortably suits three to four guinea pigs — it meets the welfare space guidelines for a group of four and gives three room to spare. Guinea pigs are sociable and should always be kept in pairs or groups, never alone, so the extra floor space suits a happy little herd. More room is always better, and daily exercise outside the hutch still matters.
It comes down to whether your piggies live together. A double or triple connects its levels with a ramp and shares one sleeping area — ideal for bonded guinea pigs who want more space in the same footprint. A 2-tier or 3-tier keeps each level completely separate, each with its own sleeping area and no ramp — essentially two or three homes stacked, perfect for guinea pigs that must be kept apart. Unsure? Drop us a message and we'll help you choose.
Yes. A bigger hutch doesn't mean a colder one, because the warmth comes from the enclosed sleeping area, not the open space. Each has a deep, draught-free bedroom in thick, weather-treated timber where piggies snuggle together and hold their body heat. For the coldest months, add a fitted hutch cover, pile in extra straw, and position the hutch somewhere sheltered.
Most will, but footprints vary between the single, combo and tiered models, so check the dimensions on each product page first. Allow a little room around it for opening doors and cleaning, and pick firm, level ground in a sheltered spot. The tiered models are a clever way to get a big living area without using much more garden — the space goes upward rather than outward.
On the double, triple and combo models there's a gentle ramp between levels, and most guinea pigs learn it within a few days — a little hay or a treat at the top encourages the timid ones, and grip strips help if it feels slippery. The 2-tier and 3-tier hutches have no ramp at all, as their levels are separate, so they're worth considering if you'd rather avoid one.
They're built for British weather — thick tongue-and-groove timber, weather-treated to shrug off rain, frost and UV. No wooden hutch is completely waterproof, so we'd always recommend pairing one with a fitted cover and re-treating the timber once or twice a year. With a sheltered position and good bedding, a 6ft hutch is a comfortable year-round home.
No hutch is ever 100% fox-proof, and we'd never claim ours is — but that isn't really how a hutch keeps guinea pigs safe. The real protection is concealment: a deep sleeping area packed with plenty of bedding, where your piggies can tuck themselves completely out of sight, sound and smell, locked away securely at night. A fox can't be tempted by what it can't find, so a snug, well-bedded, locked-up hutch keeps them about as safe as they can be — with the welded mesh and bolt locks there to back it up. For more on keeping pets safe from foxes, see our fox-proof hutch guide.
Each has full-width opening doors so you can reach every corner for daily spot-cleans and a weekly full clean-out. Some models include a slide-out floor tray that makes it quicker — it varies by hutch, so check the product page if that matters to you. A quick scrape, fresh bedding and a wipe-down is usually all it takes.
The runs and the Kendal hutch-and-run combo are for supervised daytime exercise and grazing — not for sleeping or overnight use. A run isn't predator-proof, so guinea pigs should always be returned to a secure, locked hutch at night. The combo gives you both: a secure sleeping hutch with an attached run for safe daytime play whenever you're around to supervise.
If you have three or more piggies, or just want to give them proper room to roam, the extra space is well worth it. Each is handmade in Britain from quality timber to last for years — far better value than replacing a flimsy, too-small hutch every season. Every hutch comes with free UK mainland delivery on orders over £100, our 90-day no-quibble returns and a 2-year guarantee.

Wonderful product & great company
It was such a great experience!
I was concerned that it would not be possible for me, an 82yr old lady,no good at DIY. to put it together - but it just needed a Philips screwdriver and it was easy!
They were so helpful with advice and instruction and wow - British made - wonderful - superb bird feeder and cheap!

Both the hutch and run are fantastic
We purchased the 6ft Chartwell Double Rabbit Hutch along with the 6ft Heavy Duty Rabbit Run with Burrow Portal and Tunnel for our two rabbits.
Both the hutch and run are fantastic – excellent quality, very spacious for our bunnies, and easy to clean.
Thanks again, James!

Best hutches around
Best hutches and cat hideouts around I was led to believe when buying flat pack cages that they would all break in a month or so which is normally been the case.
But since using home and roost with them being A British made company everything Is a lot better quality all the panels are solid they are easy to put together but we definitely ordering more from you in the future❤️

Quality product, quality customer service!
We are extremely impressed with the service and products from Home & Roost. We were in urgent need of our new hutch, so upon speaking with customer service.
They arranged to send our hutch on an order separate to the rest of our ordered items, at no extra charge!.
A quality product, with quality customer service.

High quality item with high quality service
Initial issue with delivery date, but this was sorted quickly and professionally. The catio is well made and survived all the storms we’ve had in the recent months - it never moved.
The quality is much higher than others I’ve seen, I would definitely recommend purchasing from them.
Excellent product and excellent service.

All Round Great Company
I ordered the wrong hutch (I wanted a double but ordered the 2 tier) and also without realising I ordered the wrong size vinyl flooring.
The warehouse staff anticipated I had made a mistake with the flooring size and sent the one I needed.
The after sales service was excellent with helping me get the hutch I wanted

Couldn’t fail this company
Their website, delivery, instructions everything was beyond perfect. Note, wood is very strong so you will need a small drill. Can do by screwdriver though not recommended.
Hutch is beautiful and especially the design. Definitely using this company over pets at home from now on, wish I knew of you guys earlier!

Great product and fantastic customer service
Brilliant to find a Made in Britain company. I can be pretty sure that the making processes will do least harm to the environment, help protect our wildlife and countryside, and support local UK businesses.
Something made in China probably fails to meet any ethical standards that we consider vital . Well done Home and Roost. I'll be back!

Solid well-made hutch
The order process was straightforward - initially, the hutch was shown as back-ordered, but it was fulfilled and dispatched earlier than the website said.
Regular updates for the delivery - so I was able to reschedule to a convenient date.

Service and professionalism
Great product and keenly priced, swift dispatch, but let down by the courier, who managed to damage a key component.
A quick email exchange of some photos and Alan and his team had a replacement on its way the same day!!
I cannot fault the service and professionalism of Home & Roost.
