Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take for me to receive my order?

Need it quick? We know how you feel!

  • First off, if your order is over £99.99 and you're in Mainland UK, we'll ship it to you for free the next working day.
  • If your order is under £99.99, we'll still get it to you, but it'll be a subsidised charge of £9.99 for next working day delivery or £6.99 for 2-3 working days on some of our smaller items.
Get your order before 12:30pm
  • If you place your order on our website before 12:30 pm during the normal work week (Monday to Friday), we'll pack and ship it out the same day.
  • We use a super-speedy Next Working Day courier service to get it to
you in the UK and British Isles. Just keep in mind that non-mainland UK  areas might take a bit longer and have a higher delivery charge.
  • For example, if you order on a Monday before 12:30 pm, we'll get that bad boy out the same day, and you'll have it on Tuesday. But if you order on a Thursday after 12:30 pm, we'll ship it out on Friday, and you'll get it the next working day, which would be the following Monday.
  • Order after 12:30 pm on a Friday or over the weekend, we'll dispatch it the next working day, usually a Monday. Easy, right?

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Now, I know you're probably wondering about our friends up in Scotland. We do our best to keep those delivery charges low, but some areas can be a bit pricier due to the size and weight of our products. So, give us a call if you're in Scotland, and we'll sort you out with a quote.

📞You can call us on 01843 263828

And let's not forget about Northern Ireland! Since our products can be a bit tricky to ship there, just send us your postcode and a list of what you want, and we'll give you a quote on the delivery.

📩 Oh, and one more thing - we'll always send you an email when your order is dispatched, and the courier will send you tracking info too. So you can keep an eye on your package the whole way.

Sound good? Let me know if you have any other questions, and I'll be happy to help!

How easy is it to assemble your flat pack products?

Let us put your mind at ease.

Our products come with clear, step-by-step instructions that even your cat might understand (though we wouldn't recommend letting them handle the screwdriver).

👯‍♂️ And while it's a breeze to assemble, we recommend a dynamic duo for the job. Grab a friend, partner, or friendly neighbour for some teamwork fun—two heads (and sets of hands) are better than one!

Got an electric screwdriver? Fantastic! That little tool will make the process even quicker and smoother.

⁉️ But hey, if you hit a snag or have a question, don't worry. We’re always here to help. Just give us a call, and we'll do everything we can to guide you through. We want to ensure your assembly experience is as joyful as the final product itself.

What size hutch is best for my guinea pigs

We always recommend that create the largest living environment for your Guinea Pigs. The hutch should always be treated as a bedroom and not a ferment living quarters. Even though our hutches are huge, regally allow your guinea pigs time outside with you and your family and make use of garden space if available. Adding a run or a tube system will greatly expand the room your guinea pigs have to play and explore.

How often should I clean my guinea pigs' hutch?

Clean the hutch weekly, with spot cleaning daily to maintain hygiene and prevent odors.

What bedding is safe for guinea pigs?

Use paper-based bedding, aspen shavings, or fleece liners. Avoid cedar and pine shavings.

What type of hay is best for guinea pigs?

Timothy hay is ideal, providing essential fiber for digestion and dental health.

What makes Home & Roost guinea pig hutches different from others on the market?

When it comes to guinea pigs, we all know that a hutch is not enough. But a great hutch can be the heart of a safe and spacious enclosure.

Home & Roost sells the largest hutches available on the market today. We sell four, five, and six-foot single hutches, as well as two-tier double hutches in various sizes. We also sell a large two-tier hutch made for two animals living separately.

In addition to hutches, we carry a wide selection of runs, many of which pair with our hutches to provide a generous combined living and exercise space.

Weatherproofing is key to protecting both your hutch and your pets. Toward this end, we carry a selection of fitted hutch covers and sunshades for your run.

We also sell a wide variety of hutch essentials, including hay, bedding, food and food dishes, water bottles, toys, and treats.
