Fresh grass, fresh air and room to binky — then folds flat and tucks away when you're done

A folding run gives your rabbits supervised time on the lawn to graze, hop and stretch out, then folds down in seconds for easy storage. Light enough to move to a fresh patch of grass whenever they've nibbled one bare.

Folds flat in seconds — no permanent fixture in the garden

Open bottom lets rabbits graze on fresh grass

Lightweight to move around the lawn or pack away

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers!

Can my rabbits stay in the run overnight or while I'm out?

No — and this matters. A run is for supervised daytime exercise only. Whenever you can't keep an eye on them, your rabbits should be back in a secure, locked hutch with a deep sleeping area. A run gives them space to play during the day; a proper hutch keeps them safe at night and when you're away.

Is a folding run fox-proof or predator-proof?

No run is, and we'd never claim otherwise. A determined fox or other predator can't be reliably kept out by any run — which is exactly why rabbits should only use one while you're around to supervise, and be locked into a secure hutch the rest of the time. Think of the run as daytime exercise space, not overnight protection.

What size should I choose, and is it big enough?

Our folding Canterbury runs come in 6ft, standard and 7.7ft XL — pick the largest your garden and storage allow, as rabbits always benefit from more room to hop and binky. For supervised daytime exercise they're ideal. For a rabbit's full living space, welfare groups recommend a permanent setup of around 3m x 2m, so we'd suggest pairing a folding run with a roomy hutch rather than relying on it as their only space.

Won't my rabbits just dig out of an open-bottom run?

Rabbits are natural diggers and will tunnel given enough time, so an open-bottom run should always be used under supervision — never left unattended. To slow digging, peg the run down, set it on a level lawn you can watch, or place it on a hard surface with a layer of bedding. The open bottom is there so they can graze on fresh grass, which most rabbits love.

Can my rabbits graze on the grass?

Yes — the open bottom lets them nibble fresh grass, one of their favourite natural behaviours. Because they'll graze a patch bare (and may start to dig), the run is light enough to lift and move to a fresh area whenever you like, giving them clean grazing and saving your lawn.

How quickly does it fold away?

In seconds. The whole point of a folding run is that it opens out ready for play and folds flat again when you're done — no permanent structure taking over the garden, and easy to store in a shed or garage between uses.

Will it blow over or shift in the wind?

Because a folding run is lightweight and portable, we'd always recommend pegging or weighing it down once it's set up, especially in an exposed garden. Anchored to the ground it stays put; left loose, a strong gust could move it — another reason to only use it while you're nearby.

Is it suitable for British weather? Do I need a shade?

The galvanised mesh and treated timber are built for outdoor use, but rabbits still need protection from the elements while they're out. Shade from direct sun is essential in summer — the Day Dry Run Shade clips straight on — and always provide fresh water and a shady spot. In heavy rain or extreme heat, bring them back to their hutch.

Can I attach a folding run to my hutch?

The folding Canterbury runs are designed as freestanding, portable runs rather than fixed hutch attachments — that's what makes them so easy to move and store. If you'd prefer a connected setup where rabbits can pass between hutch and run, take a look at our hutch-and-run combos instead.

How hard is it to assemble?

Hardly any work at all. Unlike a flat-pack run, a folding run arrives ready to open out — no tools, no fiddly panels, no lost screws. Unfold it, peg it down, and it's ready for your rabbits to enjoy.

What People Are Saying...

Wonderful product & great company

It was such a great experience!

I was concerned that it would not be possible for me, an 82yr old lady,no good at DIY. to put it together - but it just needed a Philips screwdriver and it was easy!

They were so helpful with advice and instruction and wow - British made - wonderful - superb bird feeder and cheap!

Both the hutch and run are fantastic

We purchased the 6ft Chartwell Double Rabbit Hutch along with the 6ft Heavy Duty Rabbit Run with Burrow Portal and Tunnel for our two rabbits.

Both the hutch and run are fantastic – excellent quality, very spacious for our bunnies, and easy to clean.

Thanks again, James!

Best hutches around

Best hutches and cat hideouts around I was led to believe when buying flat pack cages that they would all break in a month or so which is normally been the case.

But since using home and roost with them being A British made company everything Is a lot better quality all the panels are solid they are easy to put together but we definitely ordering more from you in the future❤️

High quality item with high quality service

Initial issue with delivery date, but this was sorted quickly and professionally. The catio is well made and survived all the storms we’ve had in the recent months - it never moved.

The quality is much higher than others I’ve seen, I would definitely recommend purchasing from them.
Excellent product and excellent service.

All Round Great Company

I ordered the wrong hutch (I wanted a double but ordered the 2 tier) and also without realising I ordered the wrong size vinyl flooring.

The warehouse staff anticipated I had made a mistake with the flooring size and sent the one I needed.

The after sales service was excellent with helping me get the hutch I wanted

Couldn’t fail this company

Their website, delivery, instructions everything was beyond perfect. Note, wood is very strong so you will need a small drill. Can do by screwdriver though not recommended.

Hutch is beautiful and especially the design. Definitely using this company over pets at home from now on, wish I knew of you guys earlier!

Great product and fantastic customer service

Brilliant to find a Made in Britain company. I can be pretty sure that the making processes will do least harm to the environment, help protect our wildlife and countryside, and support local UK businesses.

Something made in China probably fails to meet any ethical standards that we consider vital . Well done Home and Roost. I'll be back!

Solid well-made hutch

The order process was straightforward - initially, the hutch was shown as back-ordered, but it was fulfilled and dispatched earlier than the website said.

Regular updates for the delivery - so I was able to reschedule to a convenient date.

Service and professionalism

Great product and keenly priced, swift dispatch, but let down by the courier, who managed to damage a key component.

A quick email exchange of some photos and Alan and his team had a replacement on its way the same day!!

I cannot fault the service and professionalism of Home & Roost.
