Rabbits need a secure, sheltered place to sleep and hide — the hutch — and plenty of space to exercise, hop and graze by day — the run. One without the other isn't enough: a hutch alone is too confining for full-time living, and a run isn't safe for nights. Together they give your rabbits a proper, welfare-friendly home.

It's a hutch with a run attached as one connected unit — like our Kendal combos — giving your rabbits a secure sleeping area and a daytime exercise space they can move between freely. It's the simplest way to get a complete setup in one purchase.

No — the run is for supervised daytime use only. At night, and whenever you can't watch them, your rabbits should be shut securely into the hutch. A run isn't predator-proof, so the locked hutch is what keeps them safe after dark.

Welfare guidance recommends around 3m x 2m of space for a pair of rabbits, with room to take several hops in a row and stand up fully. A hutch paired with a run — or a combo — is how you reach that comfortably. As always, more space is better.

No hutch is ever 100% fox-proof, and we'd never claim ours is — but a good hutch keeps rabbits safe the way nature does. In the wild a rabbit escapes danger by retreating deep into its warren, hidden where nothing can reach it. Many do — our Chartwell runs pair with Chartwell hutches, and the burrow-portal runs link to a hutch via a tunnel so rabbits can pass safely between the two. The combos come pre-connected. Check each product's compatibility, or message us and we'll confirm the right match.

It's a tunnel that links a secure hutch to a run, letting your rabbits move between the two much as they would between a warren and the surface — safely tucked away to sleep, out to exercise when supervised. The run is still for daytime use; the hutch stays their secure base at night.

Yes — the hutches and runs are built from weather-treated timber with galvanised mesh. No wooden hutch is fully waterproof, so we'd pair it with a cover and re-treat the timber once or twice a year. Give your rabbits shade in summer too, as they can overheat.

Best hutches and cat hideouts around I was led to believe when buying flat pack cages that they would all break in a month or so which is normally been the case.

Their website, delivery, instructions everything was beyond perfect. Note, wood is very strong so you will need a small drill. Can do by screwdriver though not recommended.
