Can my tortoise stay in the run overnight or while I'm not watching?

No. A run is for supervised daytime exercise only. Tortoises are surprisingly inventive escape artists — they dig under fences and climb low walls — and they're vulnerable to predators (foxes, cats, large birds, badgers), so whenever you can't watch them they should be back in a secure shelter: a tortoise table indoors, or a locked weatherproof house in cold or wet weather.
Is the run fox-proof, cat-proof or bird-of-prey-proof?

No run reliably is, and we'd never pretend otherwise. A determined fox or cat can be a threat, and large birds (corvids, birds of prey) can take small or juvenile tortoises. Use the run only while you're around to supervise, and bring your tortoise inside whenever you're not there.
Do tortoises actually need an outdoor run, or is a tortoise table enough?

Both have a place. A tortoise table is the indoor base — secure, climate-controlled, ideal for cool weather, juveniles and winter. An outdoor run is a spring–summer extra: real sunshine for natural UV, grazing on fresh garden plants, and a more active life. Most UK keepers use both: outdoor run on warm dry days, tortoise table the rest of the time.
Does my tortoise need shade in the run?

Yes — absolutely. Mediterranean tortoises overheat as easily as they get too cold, and a sunny UK afternoon can be hotter than it feels. The run needs a shaded area at all times; our Day Dry Tortoise Run Shade clips straight on. Always provide fresh water in the run too, and on very hot days bring them inside or shorten run-time to morning and evening.
Will my tortoise dig out or climb out?

Honestly, they might try both. Tortoises dig more than most people expect, and Mediterranean species absolutely climb. Use the run on level ground you can keep watch over, set it on grass with the edges firmly down (a board or paving stone along the edge helps slow digging), and never leave a tortoise in a run unsupervised.
Which size suits my tortoise?

We offer a 6ft and a 7.7ft XL. Welfare guidance scales the space to the tortoise: a juvenile Hermann's or Horsfield is happy in the 6ft for short exercise sessions; a near-adult or larger species (Spur-thighed, Marginated) benefits from the 7.7ft XL. As always, the run is exercise space — full living space is the indoor table or a permanent enclosure. If you're unsure, drop us a message with your tortoise's species and shell length.

Not in the UK. Outdoor runs are a spring-and-summer thing — broadly April to September, depending on weather. As autumn cools, tortoises slow down and many species hibernate; that's a specialist topic and an active veterinary question that varies by species and your tortoise's health, so we'd point you to your vet, the Tortoise Trust or Tortoise Protection Group for guidance. Outside the warm months, keep your tortoise indoors or in its hibernation setup.
Will it survive British weather?

The timber is weather-treated and the mesh galvanised, but a folding run is built to be set up and put away rather than live outdoors permanently. Bring it in between sessions, especially in wet weather. In an exposed garden, anchor or weigh down the corners so a gust doesn't shift it while your tortoise is inside.
How does it fold, and will it fit through my gate?

Best hutches and cat hideouts around I was led to believe when buying flat pack cages that they would all break in a month or so which is normally been the case.

Their website, delivery, instructions everything was beyond perfect. Note, wood is very strong so you will need a small drill. Can do by screwdriver though not recommended.
